What do you think of the French Prime Minister coming over today and getting all the pomp?

From what I have been listening to on the news this French Prime Minister seems quite arrogant.

I have to admit, I've not really seen much about it, but it seems he's trying to get back in the UK and US's good books. I think he's just typically French ;) Comes across as a bit biting and arrogant but doesn't necessarily mean it. But then I guess having a supermodel as a wife and being in a powerful political position may bloat your ego somewhat :) I don't think he'd go down well in Britain as a PM, but I expect the French like him.

No as far as I know he is not very popular any more after the Carla Bruni story. But I must say he made a move into the right direction as he seems the only PM to actively rebuke China for it's Tibet policy. I am going to a demonstration this afternoon organised by Amnesty International because I think this issue has been ignored for far too long and Chinese government can't continue to claim that it is an inner Chinese problem because Tibet NEVER was a part of China until they invaded a completely unarmed country in the 50'S.

Good for you Ivy, going on a demo. against China. Their human rights history is dreadful, I don't think they should have the Olympics at all. I really hope the Tibet issue becomes a big threat to the games.

I have to agree with both of you, I have never been on a demo before, good for you Ivy, as Pippa says China does not deserve to have the Olympics.

For me it is only the second time too and the other one was ages ago about funding private schools... must say I am a bit nervous will tell you later how it went.
