Where is the most memorable place you have visited? For me it was a day in St.Jean de Luz with our Basque cousins and some friends. The weather was perfect, the scenery picture postcard perfect and the food ... ah the food!! After lunch we walked the streets admiring the displays in the shop windows. On my wall I have a photo taken that day and enlarged, everytime I look at it I am transported back to that perfect day. :)

Hi, For me it has to be Arlington Row in Bibury, a little church in a farm backyard in Yanworth, and then of course the Yorkshire Dales! There's many other places too, but these three have taken hold of my soul.

I love many places, but my best memories are of Anstruther, a fishing village in Fife, where Andy and I started going when we first met and lived in the city. As often as possible we would get the bus from Edinburgh to Anstruther (3 hours each way then) have a good walk along the coast and then buy the best fish and chips ever and sit in a sheltered spot over-looking the harbour with our backs against the public conveniences! It was such a simple pleasure, but it meant so much to us. Now we drive to Anstruther which has become much bigger. The PCs were rebuilt and now you can't sit behind them, but the fish and chips are still excellent and the harbour is more or less the same.

A little pub in Elterwater in the Lakes, where my first (late) husband proposed to me within two months of our first writing to each other; the fantastic wildness of some of the Yorkshire moors; the quaintness of Cornish fishing villages; the beauty of Holkham beach.
