Where are you going to buy your trotters, Sheddie? I think I saw some on Bury market the other week.

No, didn't say I would try them first, I'm not a big meat eater at the best of times, but if I wanted to I'd know where to buy!

Bury's famous market has a stall selling black puddings, plus tripe and all those other unmentionables. There is always a queue, you can have your black pudding hot, to eat then and there, with mustard. We take ours home for tea.

Have you had your first tasting then Sheds?! If it's cleaned up nice and proper, and add some beef, whole cloves (to taste) a little bit of vinegar, it makes a super brawn. That's how my mum used to make brawn. Not any other "meat", only the trotter, but as I've said cleand properly, and beef. Lovely!

Clarisa the cook one of the 'two fat ladies' said this. The recipe is on ITV website Alan Titchmarsh show for Tuesday 11th March if you would like more details. Now who's going to try them first, it shouldn't be me because I've come up with the details. X lol

Dinger, I think you're quite right with brawn made from brains, but my mum and grandmother wouldn't touch it if it was made with it. So that's how the trotters and "normal" beef for brawn came about, and I must say, it's absolutely delicious!
And yes, Sheds cannot stay away from the piggies - perhaps you should give her a piggy for her birthday, and she can take it for walks when she takes Jess, what do you think?

Eleanor, the trotters arn't that fatty, and I don't use so much in the brawn.

All this talking of brawn (in Afrikaans = SULT) started me of considering to make us some!

You must look at the recipe because ham was added too. X I think many of you could do with a quick wipe around the face with a nice cold pigs trotter. They are my friends.X
