After my clients this morning and walking the dog, this afternoon I thought I would make some cushion covers ready for the garden in the summer, I am quite pleased with them, they are in red gingham and all I need now is to get some ribbon to have as ties, but my shop does not open on a Wednsday so I will have to finish them off on Thursday.

Never mind the ties, where did you get the red gingham? My friend wants some for her kitchen curtains, and no one has red at the moment.

Gingham is very popular this summer, I got mine from a shop called C & H Fabric's. I was hoping to go and buy some more today but I am withoug a car and it is not walking distance or cycling!

Try online www.bedecked.co.uk or www.vvrouleaux.com hope this will help your friend.

I'm so inept that I can't even make cushion covers (although Mum says they're actually a little trickier than they look). When we've got some time after Nannie has settled back in at home I'll take my sewing machine round to Mum's so she can instruct me. I really need to try harder with my self-sufficiency skills.

Those look really good, HH. The red gingham really suits the plain style and the fancy chair. I am looking for some mauve gingham for a bedroom blind.

Thanks Crocus, I am hoping to make some more sortly but what with Easter and other things happening sewing and knitting have had to be put aside at the moment, as I cannot get to the shops until next week to get what I need. I do not have a shop nearby that sells what I need. Never mind.

Love the cushion covers HH, that's something I definitely want to have a go at when I have time to sit down with my sewing machine (hopefully in the next couple of weeks).

I would love to see your new designs when you get around to making them :)
