Hi, so pleased you have made it here. My name is changed from the CL site but you will probably figure out who is who. I remember the way you posted a blog about bullying when I was leaving because of it. I did appreciate it then.
Lovely news about your wedding the 30's are one of my favourite periods, very Agatha Christie!! How is your business going?

Hi Ma great to see you here and hear of your wedding plans! Why did you pick the 1930's just out of interest? Also do hope you are feeling much better and rested.

Hi! Ma Larkin. Glad to see you on this forum, and to hear of your wedding plans. I love the 1930s era - so elegant. I remember you asking us about ideas for food - have you decided what your guests will eat yet?

Hi all, sorry for late reply as you can imagine its been very busy here! Thanks for the warm welcome, anyway here goes the blow by blow report..... Ive chosen December this year as it would have been my Grandma's 90th birthday this year and it would be 10 years in Jan since she past away. Also i love Christmas its got to be one of the most romantic times of the year and i want everyone who attends to feel the magic too. Also it my youngest sons 5th birthday and he shares it with a close friend of ours who will be 45 on the day too.

Well i guess you ladies would like to know about the dress.... well its long and slinky with lots of sparkle it has a Art deco pattern that runs up it and the back is very strappy.
it has a small train like the kind you would see on a 1930's dress i have feather stole(fake of course) and a thin diamonte alice band. My Flowers are going to be quite simple with seasonal foilage and berrys and flowers. bridesmaids two in dark red and stoles and one very little girl in white organser and stole with a lovely fluffy head band to match.

Men and Boys will be in formal black suits with ivory waistcoats and pale gold cravats.

The Car- 1930's Austin Heavy Cream & Black

the service- Register office followed by a blessing at the church in the village that we want to live in (If we ever Get There!!!!)

Reception at the village pub(Nothing to Flash sorry!) But the food will be Turkey, Roast potatoes, Gravey and Cranberry sauce, And a Buffet with Christmas pies, Mulled wine on arrival, sparkling wine and orange juice for those that don't drink!

Ive arranged for santa to visit the children and for Carol singers to appear by magic as the night draws in.
Sorry for any spelling mistakes im a bit tired ..

Love Ma Larkin

Oh sorry, yes there will be a traditional white two tier cake very simple trimmed with ivory velvet ribbon and with a beaded and crystal decoration that spans out like a fire work

I got married in March when it was very cold and had my 4 small neices as bridesmaids, they wore red velvet dresses with white fur collars and cuffs and I had a fur collar on my dress. We all had muffs and they were little minxs.

Ma, sounds magical....imagine if it snowed too! I wouldn't mind getting married close to Christmas, except for the fact that I'd then have my wedding anniversary, Christmas and my birthday all in one month!

Hope to see some pics of it when it finally comes around though!
