My mum and I have been thinkig about doing some sort of woodwork course. Since I've had my allotment it's been obvious that some woodworking skills would be handy. However, the course at my local community college (my old school) looks SO boring. I drive past and see the technology department lit up, and seeing the old benches and people crowded round just reminds me of my school days. I have visions of my old design and technology classes where I was bored stiff, had to stand around for hours on end listening to the tutor whittle on before getting 10 mins at the end of the lesson to do a bit of practical work.
Do you think I'd be better off getting a book, or learning from someone who knows their stuff?
