yesterday whilst up town i saw the familiar figure of our big issue vendor.he is a very pleasant fellow.as people walk by ignoring him he will in a genuine and happy way say have a nice day then love ,or something like that.i dont like been accosted by people in the street.so i just walked by.he gave me a little jig and said have a nice day.half hour later as i walked towards m&s to price up the knickers.he had moved his post to here"big issue duck" i smiled no thanks.he gave a little dance "have a lovely day duck."i smiled and said your crazy in a nice way.whilst in m&s i decided if he was still outside i would buy one.he was."big issue duck" yes go on then i smiled ."YES" he said you'r the first one today to buy one.never i said ,yes you are.he is such a likable chap i thought he would sell loads.i have been sitting reading it.good article on jamie oliver and his 15 charity.an article on a big issue vendor to.i realise this is a proper controlled charity with rules for the vendors.they really are trying to do something constructive.so i say buy a big issue if you can ,it is helping some-one to feel self worth.what do you think.

i realise those who live abroad might not know what big issue is.it is a magazine about social issues and bits of celeb chat etc.homeless people sell them to earn a bit of money.only responsible homeless people as far as i can gather can buy them from the issuer.they have to be registered and follow certain rules.

Hi Eleanor, we've always wondered what this Big Issue was about, and many times we have noticed these people outside shops or whatever, selling the magazine. We always thought it might be something to do with advertisements, but I must be honest, we didn't take the time to find out.:o Thanks for explaining Eleanor, next time we'll know what its about.:)

the funny thing is i knew what it was about.have bought it a few times, but never read it.after reading it i realised these people are trying to do something constuctive with a bad situation.it doesn't cost much to help.

One seller in Manchester was shouting 'Big Issue, 2 free staples in every copy'. I just had to laugh and buy one.

We always buy Big Issue whenever we see someone selling it, as this is the individuals bread and butter .....literally. Sometimes, we will have as many as 3 copies of the same issue in the house, because, unknown to each one of us, myself, hubby, and a son has bought a copy.lol But it's all for a good cause, and the articles are really professional and interesting.

thats what i noticed sunflower.i have actually been reading all the articles.they are very interesting.i didn't realise these sellers had to be registered and adhere to strict rules.so these are genuine homeless not just people trying to make easy money.
