Well all it's friday again, when you look back over the week have you got all done what you wanted to do? I feel all in all I've had a good week - I've had nice things happen and I hope I've given a bit back too.Like yesterday a neigbour of mine who has bone cancer came for a walk in the park with me and Jess, she really enjoyed it and didn't complain once. She has two young children and used to run marathons.I think I learned a lesson and today have practised not complaining about anything - when you actually stop moaning and complaining about small stuff, it leaves long silences and you realise just how much you moan about things you can't change anyway!Give it a try for one day!!!
This week has been pretty bad for me. Hen is still sick, mother's cat that lives with grandmother has cancer is only has a few weeks left, lots of 'domestic' and 'financial' issues that just won't go away. It's just one long struggle at the mo...hope next week will be better.
Still, yesterday after over a year of not knowing, I finally had the courage to speak to a lady on our street about a cat that has been living at our house. He used to be hers and she's said we can keep him as her own, as he went off a couple of years ago (to live with us) and she doesn't have a catflap so she can't really look after him. So now we know he is ours for sure.
And as you say sheddie, I shouldn't complain. I have my health for now, a roof over my head and my family around me.

I'm afraid this week was work, work work so no improved lumbago. Now at least I know what sets it off. Next week should be better in that respect. Today was my mum's 86th birthday so I rang her up to wish her a happy birthday; it was lovely to talk to her.
And we heard today that we have a 4 to 6 week wait for the garage door - I've a feeling it's only just been ordered. At least the electricians are coming to see to the sockets and lights next week so we'll be working out where we want those this weekend.
And my oriental poppies and grass seed arrived, so apart from the work it's not been a bad week and the way I look at it, it won't come again so why worry about it.

Oola sorry your week has been hard, I think we've all been there with the financial bit, it isn't easy and although we thought it hard I do think it is difficult for young people these days. i know my daughter just works, works, works.Eee glad your being positive, that isn't easy either is it, but your sense of humour will always get you through in life I'm sure. I really mean it everyone try one day without complaining, I have today and it is surprising.

After working nearly full time through the summer to cover for staff on holiday, I'm suddenly back to part time so have had 3 days off. It's been nice to catch up with a few neglected household tasks, and pamper myself too. This weekend my eldest child (son) will be 30, and his girlfriend is having a party for him, so all I have to do is turn up after work. Brill. Fran.

I have not done all the jobs I set out to do this week and working all weekend,, so start again on Monday. I feel overwhelmed at times by the amount I have to do so try to remember how lucky I am living in the country with my garden and cats. Trying not to spend any money so living out of store cupboard - fed up with beans and chickpeas!

Lovely to see you again sheepy, well done dinger and Oola.
Had quite a good week, rehearsing for forthcoming concerts with the choir, preparing for my husbands' birthday lunch tomorrow,I even gave the car a birthday and cleaned it inside and out, daughter and husband coming today for w/end,been to the gym,and most importanly, prepared for "Brigadoon",I shall have to fly back early to prepare the lunch for my other party!
Oola, sorry you have had a bad week,it will get better for you but like everything that is worthwhile,it takes time.We have this motto "he who dares wins" and you have dared to do a lot of things not the least of which is making a lot of ladies very happy indeed. As sheddie quite rightly says, thank goodness you remain positive, you will be feeling very different even this time next year ,and you are lucky in that you have youth on your side.

It was quite a busy week actually. School had a week break last week, started again on Monday. Boys have assignments that must be completed, one being a model to be built! School prestige awards evening Tuesday evening. My cleaning lady didn't come for two weeks because of a dental problem, so I had quite a lot of chores to do! She only comes once a week. Yesterday though, hubby suggest that we go for a drive to a 'neighbouring' village. About 150 km. from home. Proved to be a lovely relaxing day!

Hi Sheepyjames, lovely to have you here. Well, my week has been a bit traumatic as I have had a mass exodus from our house. Two sons have gone to work in Spain for a few months, and another son has gone back on his ship which will be sailing to the Gulf shortly. Massive headache today, even though I had to work a long shift on the ward. I think the headache was brought on by all the good byes we had to do and yet remain with a frozen smile on our faces and be strong. Never mind. God will take care of them. and Next week I have a holiday......to catch up on gardening and make my Christmas cake xxxx

Do you know, Sunflower, I was actually feeling very sorry for you until you mentioned the dreaded words"Christmas cake" ! Seriously though, it's awful waving them off. They leave a gap that only seems to be filled by worrying about them, doesn't it?
Thanks everyone for your welcoming messages. Kate

Hi Sunflower hope you are feeling better today .I know how worried you must feel about your sons but you must be very proud of them.
Hi all, thanks for your comments :) Just had a bad week, but that's all it was, just keep ploughing on and as that wise man Buddha said, all things must pass (you can learn a lot through George Harrison!)! And that includes bad weeks! So thanks for your sentiments and prayers, here's hoping to a much better, fulfilling week as of tomorrow! :)
sunflower, I for one am rubbish with saying 'goodbyes' and 'see you laters', so I think you're very brave! My best wishes for your sons, and hope you have a little time to indulge yourself now xxxx
