What makes you smile in the morning? I was walking the dog at 6.30 this morning and when I turn into the fields there is a beautiful view and over the hills the sun is rising. Every morning it is different, different colours different feel about the day, but every morning it makes me smile. :D

It used to be my hubby that made me smile first thing in the morning and sadly I miss watching him wake, he was always such a sleepy bunny first thing!

I usually wake to the sound of my little dog blissfully snoring (very loudly) and it always makes me smile. He sleeps wedged between us, ontop of the covers and will stay there until almost lunchtime on a cold rainy day.
Sorry for your loss Carolyn, as I get older I really do dread that day coming.

When I walk down the corridor to the kitchen early in the mornings, and peep into the boys' rooms. Still fast asleep, with tousled hair, peaceful. That makes me smile. :)

Going downstairs and being greeted by our brother and sister cats, maiowing for their breakfast and then purring while they eat it. They are so cute!

I don't smile too much at the moment - but love being greeted by the animals in the mornings.

Oola. Negative things have a nasty habit of arriving together and they will leave as well, and become things of the past - so don't let them get you down. It's hard to remain cheerful when everything seems against you but each day try and think positive thoughts - about something or anything - your "new" cat, the wild birds outside, some flowers you've seen growing, something funny that happened and if all that fails - just think of your success in getting this forum going - that is an achievement and a half!

And you are not alone - domestic and financial worries hit us all I'm afraid at some time in our lives and it is through learning to deal with these that we grow older and wiser.

Oola, you should smile by bring thing forum together, you made a lot of us smile again. because I was sure enough not smiling on the CL site anymore.

If you have domestic or financial worries do not feel alone. Since my hubby died 4 years ago money has been very tight and I am not used that. We both had been married before and both taken for a ride on our first marriages, so when we meet we really did not have a penny between us, but we worked hard over the years to get back again, but it was never like it was before, but we had our love which was the most important thing to us, and Nigel had a wonderful job allowing us to travel to Antartica and other parts of the world. When he passed away it was a great shock to me and the family, but I have picked myself up and got on with my life the best I can. I have a new partner and I have my own little business, although it does not bring in much money, but every penny helps to put food on my table. I know my finacial worries will not go away but I deal with it the best I can. So PLEASE do not feel alone, and if you ever need to talk we are ALL here for you. I have made some nice friends from the CL site that have now moved over to here and it feels good to be able to write things down and talk to people that do not really know me, but seem to understand what I am saying.

So have a smile this weekend and smile for what you have done for us.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and I will catach up on MOnday. Although will be very busy with my daughters blessing for next weekend.

Take Care lots of love xx

Redstart, same here. I have a bouncy "I just love mornings" cat purring in my right ear on the bedside table, a snoring "I don't do mornings" tom cat at the bottom of the bed, and a sleepy husband on my left. On Saturdays he usually makes me tea and I can watch the sun stagger above the horizon through our balcony window. Bliss.

Oola, I hate to read your posts in which you seem so down lately. Financial problems do happen to everyone sometimes and hopefully the hard times will soon pass. You have given so much to us all on line that we would all like to help in some way. Please be positive, negative energy attracts more negativity.
I know everyone is not religious but I will pray for you anyway. I always seem to have my prayers answered or a solution appear to a problem. As I have said before elsewhere "we are never given more to bear than we can handle". Be strong and try a smile. :)

Hi Oola, we would really want you to be happy! You can be so proud of yourself with this site you set up! Some days things feel and look worse than other days. My mom used to say that when one door closes, another opens! And as SummerSkye, I will also pray for you! All the best! :)

What makes me smile is knowing that I just have to switch on the computor and there are like minded friends.

I smile when I wake up to the sound of birds. I like the fact that they are up just before me to get the day started. I also smaile when i first see my elderly dog. He is usually still aslepp when I get up and because he is losing his teeth he always has funny expression on his face, enhanced by if he is having a dream where he looks like he is trying to run and even growling a bit.

Oola, I am sorry to hear that you don't feel much like smiling at the moment. You have done an amazing thing by listening to forum users' needs on the CL site and setting up a swift alternative to keep us in touch and talking about the things that matter to us before we all drifted away. We all have troubles at different times in our lives, and a good thing about being human is that we are always able to eventually think of a way past them, even if it isn't quite what we once had in mind. As Healing Hands said, let us know if we can help - we all definately owe you one!

As I said in the other thread, thank you all so much for your kind words and prayers, it really is good to know that you're all enjoying the new site, really makes it worthwhile!

Really, I am ok, just in life it's swings and roundabouts, up and downs, but towards the end of this week we've had a couple of minor but positive changes! Really I just need a good old kick up the backside and I'll be fine, just sometimes you feel a bit tired and fed up with life throwing things at you, but you soldier on and through it and really, it's all just rubbish and superfluous because in the end I have my health, my family and lots of opportunities! Just need to stop dilly-dallying and try my best to work things out. Bit cryptic I know, but I do have a lot to smile about, and I *have* been smiling :)
